Spirit of Sioux Falls Scholarship and Award
Applicants for this award must live in or maintain residency in Lincoln or Minnehaha County of South Dakota — even though they may attend a school outside the area — or they must attend school in one of these two counties. Applicants must also attend a school accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in business and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of business in American society. A motivation and ability to succeed, academic excellence, and community involvement are also criteria for this award. Award: $2,500; Deadline: July 1
Bill Barlow “Second Chance” Scholarship
This scholarship provides an award for the first year of higher education at an accredited college, university, or vocational or technical school for students from the Sioux Falls, SD, area who have a financial need, and who are not normally eligible for such awards because they developed a motivation late in life or after leaving high school. Applicants who did not receive a traditional high school diploma, who entered the work force after graduation, or who were not the top students in previous academic work but who demonstrate personal growth and motivation through an improving academic record, strong work ethic, or some other factor will be given priority for this scholarship. Jeremy Baum “Hope” Scholarship
Applicants must be a graduate or a graduating senior of a Dell Rapids high school or a person who has earned a GED or equivalent and resides in Dell Rapids. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational or technical school. Award: $1,250; Deadline: March 15
Waneta Drake Miller Edmison Non-Traditional Student Scholarship
The Waneta Drake Miller Edmison Non-Traditional Student Scholarship is available to students 24 years of age or older who are residents of Minnehaha, Lincoln, Turner, or McCook counties of South Dakota. Applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of six credit hours in a course of study in a degree-granting program and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per academic term at an accredited educational institution. Award: $1,000; Deadline: March 15
